The outstanding rookies include Paul “Tiny” Sturgess, the world’s tallest pro basketball player at 7-8, Jonte “Too Tall” Hall, the shortest Globetrotter ever at 5-2, and Fatima “TNT” Maddox of Temple University, the team’s first female player since 1993 and ninth female in team history.  The new Globetrotters also feature the top three finishers from the 2011 College Slam Dunk Contest, including the reigning champ Jacob “Hops” Tucker. At 5-10, Tucker sports a 50-inch vertical leap, and his YouTube videos have garnered well over four million views.  Tucker joins slam dunk runner-up John “Jet” Williams of UNC-Asheville and semifinalist Darnell “Spider” Wilks of the University of Cincinnati. The 2012 rookie class has a total of three seven-footers including 7-4 Jermaine “Stretch” Middleton, the third-tallest player in team history, and 7-foot Anthony “Biggie” McClain. At 7-8, Sturgess becomes the tallest Globetrotter ever after a career at Mountain State University (W.Va.). He is the 19th internationally born player in team history, hailing from Loughborough, England.

Guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone this holiday, learn how to create beautiful jewelry, awesome wallets, and holiday decorations out of duct tape to impress even the person who has everything. Yes, duct tape: waterproof, indestructible, and available in zebra stripes… even Santa’s jealous. You are also welcome to volunteer to make duct tape flowers to decorate local senior centers for the holidays.

Sunday, December 18 - Holiday Cookies Family Cooking Workshop

Participate in a series of cooking workshops created especially for kids. Kids will learn how to create recipes that are easy, delicious, and nutritious. This month we inspire your family's culinary creativity as we prepare our own "Holiday Cookies" from scratch.

Macaroni Made: Cinnamon Ornaments


Holiday Craft!

This is so easy, so cute, and it makes the house smell amazing!

Cinnamon Ornaments

What you need:

  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 4 oz cinnamon (I found a bottle that was 3.88oz.)
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters
  • Straw or toothpick
  • String

Mix applesauce and cinnamon together

 

Kneed until it can be rolled out

 

Roll out

 

Cut with cookie cutters

 

Make a hole with a straw or toothpick

Put on rack until dry (1-2 days)

 

String and hang!

Snowman Soup

This Snowman Soup is sure to warm and delight all North Pole inhabitants alike! After working a long hard day in the Toy Factory or playing Reindeer Games warm up with this sweet soup! 


Ingredients:
1 Cup Fresh Fallen Snow
1/2 Cup Fresh Spun Marshmallows
1 Candy Cane
2 Chocolate Kisses
1 Package of Mrs. Claus’ homemade hot chocolate powder.

Directions:
Pour Mrs. Claus’s Homemade Hot Chocolate powder into and Elf mug.
Add 1 Cup Fresh Fallen Snow.
Warm in the fire for 1 minute until the snow ...


Macaroni Kid Play Date!


At Whole Foods Market Cedar Center

The first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m., Macaroni Kid Cleveland East is teaming up with Whole Foods at Cedar Center for a play date!

With a lovely space for children to play, come and visit with other parents and enjoy a snack and a beverage, courtesy of Whole Foods. There will also be snacks for the kids: Three Sisters cereals and juice or a yogurt drink.
