Introducing NEW Family Programs at the Zoo!
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo offers programs for ages 2-99. Look into our series of classes, or just spend the day on your own at the Zoo watching the many shows and talking with our knowledgeable staff. Delight in a day of discovery with your son or daughter and a snake, your mother and a meerkat, your husband and a harbor seal or your choice of many other adventures. Either way, your family will enjoy discovering the wonders of the animal world.

Ever wanted to know more about your favorite animal or exhibit?
Start your day off at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo with a unique experience for the whole family in one of our Family Discoveries programs! Hands-on activities and guided tours make the variety of topics, from animals to exhibits to sustainability, come alive. Small animal encounters and Behind-the-Scenes opportunities are a special part of every Family Discoveries program! Topic varies by date, so come for one, come for all!
Programs are 90 minutes long.
Program fee includes admission to the Zoo and RainForest.
Discounted rates for all Zoo members.
Family Discoveries Programs run from June to December and topics vary by date. Check the Zoo’s website for all upcoming programs.
Upcoming Family Discoveries:
June 9th: The Zoo’s A’Bloomin - Ever wonder how the Zoo's gardens always look their best? Maybe you'd like some tips for your own garden? Zoo's A'Bloomin provides an overview of our horticulture division. Learn how Zoo horticulturists care for the Zoo's 183 rolling, wooded acres and tour several of the gardens.
June 24th: ‘Mazing Marsupials - There are some strange and interesting animals out there and marsupials are one of them. Learn about their 'mazing adaptations and meet some of the most recognized ones.
Do you have an artist in your family?
You could bring the whole family and share a day of cultural exploration with your young artists at our new African Art Family Program. Work together with a skilled artist from Africa as he guides you through different techniques of simple African crafts. Then take home your masterpiece at the end of the day!
Programs are 2 hours long.
Program fee includes admission to the Zoo and RainForest.
