Summer Season begins June 3. Don't miss out! Register today!

Fresh Fork Market is great for busy families. It is our one stop shop for sustainable, local farm provisions. It is my trusted source for clean and healthy fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy.

Each week we meet the refrigerated truck in a parking lot near us. There are pickup locations all over the greater Cleveland area, and I’ve included a list below. At the back of the truck I get a "grab bag" filled with that week’s selection of what is best from local farmers - always produce, usually a meat, and occasionally cheeses, grains and dairy. For $25 for the small bag and $40 for the large bag, it is a value you can’t find anywhere else. Samples of bags from the past can be found on their website under the link, "Bag Contents." Be sure to surf around and check different dates to see how the season changes.

For me, I like Fresh Fork because I don’t have to study the labels to know if the produce is grown without harmful chemicals. I don’t have to determine what is all natural beef or pork and how fresh it is. I don’t have to worry about growth hormones or antibiotics. Trevor and his staff at Fresh Fork work directly with over 100 family farms within a 75 mile radius to ask these questions and ensure I’m getting the best possible product. For more on Fresh Fork’s sourcing philosophy, you may want to refer to page 3 in their beautiful Almanac from last year: 2014 Fresh Fork Market Almanac.

Each Tuesday morning I get an email from Fresh Fork that says what will be in my "grab bag” that week. The weekly e-blast is full of information about the farms, upcoming educational events, and recipes that help utilize all the ingredients in that week’s share. If I need more than what is in that week’s bag, I am also able to go online and pre-order my extras, such as milk, eggs, butter and extra produce.

If you’ve ever thought about doing a CSA or Farm Buying Club, I’d suggest trying Fresh Fork Market. The next season starts the week of June 1st. For full details and to register, visit www.freshforkmarket.com or call their customer service lady, Lyn, at 800-861-8582.

This year they created a great "Cheat Sheet" that helps answer the most common questions. You can find that directly here.
