Sooner than you know, spring will be here and home updates will be on the top of the to do list. To help with ideas and vendor choices, the Lake County Chambers of Commerce, comprised of the Eastern Lake County Chamber, Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce and Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce, will hold its annual Home & Lifestyle Expo the weekend of Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor.
The Expo will kick off at 10am on Saturday, March 4 and run until 6pm. Sunday’s hours are 11am-6pm. The weekend promises to provide attendees ideas, inspiration, innovative products and practical advice in remodeling, home improvement, gardening and lifestyle. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with the experts. Representatives from local companies, contractors, remodelers and designers will all be in one location to answer questions, provide suggestions and explore ideas for all aspects of home improvement needs both inside and out.
Entertainment and education will be a big part of the weekend. The entertainment stage is located in front of Macy’s and will feature a variety of presentations and demonstrations. The weekend lineup includes decorating tips and repurposing furniture, how to make a home rain barrel, dance demonstrations, fashion shows and musical entertainment. Join WKKY Radio at the stage on Saturday at 2pm and see four of your fairytale favorite princesses as they dance and sing. They will be available for limited picture taking with children at 3pm.
The first 250 attendees each day will receive a free gift bag. Gift bags will be distributed at the top of the food court until they are gone. All attendees over the age of 21 will have the chance to enter a raffle drawing to win a $500 mall gift card. To participate simply pick up an entry card at any one of the exhibitors’ booths. Have the card stamped as instructed and submit the card to the stage to be entered into the drawing. The winner will be contacted by phone on Monday, March 6.
New this year is an area to create your own fairy garden. Funds raised by this activity will benefit the efforts of SS Kids, an initiative under Leadership Lake County which provides school supplies to families in need. The opportunity to check out and take a chance on winning an outdoor playhouse built by Auburn Career Center students will also be available.
