By Erica Roth, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Medina & Akron August 1, 2018

Every year, the state of Ohio designates a tax-free holiday. A weekend where you can do all of your back to school shopping and save by not having to pay taxes. There are some limitations, though.

The following items will be exempt from sales tax:

  • Clothing items $75 or less
  • School supplies that are $20 per item or less
  • School instructional materials that are $20 or less.

The 2018 tax-free weekend will be from Friday, August 3, 2018, at 12:00 a.m. until on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 11:59 p.m.
