๐ŸŽฏHit the Target on Date Night with Axetreme Sports Cleveland

By Jamie Zagar, Macaroni Kid Cleveland East Publisher March 15, 2021

If you’re looking for a fun, energetic, and even competitive date night idea, check out Axe Throwing at Axetreme Sports Cleveland, in Willoughby on Vine Street. It’s located at 36495 Vine Street, #J, in Freeway Plaza.

We went last weekend, my husband and I, with another couple for a fun night out to celebrate my birthday. None of us have ever tried axe throwing, but we quickly learned with the guidance and knowledge from owner Alan Thompson. Alan was our facilitator for the 1.5-hour session, and taught all about the different ways to throw, how to place your feet, and even how to remove the axes from the board.

After a few practice throws, Alan explained some games and our friendly competition began! This is the perfect activity for couples, small groups, girls/guys night out, or even team building. The facilitator explains each game and keeps score so there is no pressure to keep track of your points. At the end of your session you’ll get a chance to rack up points, if you get 40 or above, you get to sign the Wall of Fame!

You are welcome to bring in food and beverages and on the evening we went there was even a food truck in the parking lot. Keep an eye out on their social media for details - Facebook and Instagram. There is also a Destruction Zone, where you can smash and destroy items! More details HERE.

Ages 10 and up are able to participate in axe throwing, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Your group size can be up to 25, sessions are 1.5 hours long with the option to add time and prices are:

$60 for 2
$20 for each additional up to 4
$140 for 5
$20 for each additional up to 12

You can book online HERE for both Axe Throwing and the Destruction Zone.

As for covid safety, the door handles were being cleaned as we entered, there was one other group that was finishing as we started and everyone wore masks. It was a great evening out, which has not happened much in the past year!

My group was hosted by Axetreme Sports Cleveland. All opinions are my own.
