Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library, along with the American Library Association and libraries across the country, will be celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, September 1-30.
To commemorate this special occasion, Willoughby-Eastlake Library would like to hear from you! Let everyone know why you love the library and what keeps you coming back. Submit a 1–2 minute video talking about how our libraries have positively impacted your life. Submissions can be sent to love@welibrary.info and may be featured across our social media platforms.
This year, Tony Award-winning performer Idina Menzel and her sister, author Cara Mentzel, have been named honorary chairs of Library Card Sign-Up Month.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, libraries work together in a national effort to ensure every child sign up for a library card. Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, a library card gives students the tools to succeed.
Libraries offer everything from early literacy programs to virtual homework help and beyond. At Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library, you’ll find a wide variety of educational resources, programs and events, digital services, adapted programming for children with varying learning styles & abilities and much more!
