LEARN WHAT YOU LOVE! If your child likes LEGO, Minecraft, or coding, they are going to love becoming a creator in a Classroom Antics summer camp!  They’ll learn how to think logically, solve problems and work as a team. Our camps ignite a child’s passion while inspiring them to think about what they can achieve and how this will help them in future career paths. They also gain confidence to go back to school with all the skills they learned in summer camp, and it prepares them for high school and beyond.  Learning new technical and social skills will help them transition out of their comfort zone to what lies next. Our campers are shown there can be a fun side of learning subjects like math and science. They can see it put into real world situations and gain hands-on skills.

What Classroom Antics Offers:

Morning STEAMers (9am – 12pm) and STEAM Makers (1pm - 4 pm) are for kids ages 6-8.  In Morning STEAMers, our younger campers will learn how to do interactive robotic programming and artistic coding with fun STEAM brain breaks. Perfect for students ages 6-8, this camp is designed with shorter activities to keep young minds stimulated and bodies moving! Our littlest STEAMers will start their day using the fun VEX 123 robots and finish using Scratch Jr for some coding on the computer. Our second camp for ages 6-8 is STEAM Makers. Kids can do engineering on the computer using Minecraft Education Edition, then engineer LEGO builds according to the challenge given to them. It will be a true STEAM experience! Both camps involve art, math, engineering and technology that is age appropriate and educational.

LEGO Bots (9am – 12pm) and Game Builders (1pm - 4pm) are for kids ages 7-9
.  In LEGO Bots kids construct robots that they control using basic visual programming to move with motors, react with sensors and make noise. LEGO robots remain at camp; pictures of robots and LEGO creations are sent home after camp. Game Builders offers the opportunity to create 3-D style video games that they can take home on a USB provided. The software is free, so once they learn how to use it, they can continue at home!

Minecraft Coding (9am - 12pm, ages 7-10) and Game Design (1pm - 4pm, ages 10-13). These courses offer an opportunity for kids to turn their love for video games and computer playing into a technology and engineering learning experience. Minecraft Coding teaches kids block coding using Minecraft for Education, which looks just like the Minecraft worlds they play on at home. Their challenges will involve science, animals, the environment, and thinking logically to help solve problems. Game Design teaches how to make video games using a more in-depth programming style using actions and events. Create cool retro 2-D video games that can be taken home on a USB provided at camp to share and play with family and friends!

VEX Robotics (9am – 12pm) and Minecraft Animation (1pm - 4 pm) are for kids ages 10-14.  In our VEX Robotics camp kids can build their own robot, then code their robot to meet each challenge given to them. They will have some fun competitions and will take home an engineering notebook that will help them keep track along the way. Learn the art of digital animation using the Minecraft worlds as the medium in Minecraft Animation. Kids will make their very own Minecraft movies and learn the video editing skills to polish their finished product!
