Can a toddler play group be life-changing? This one is.

By Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development August 20, 2024

The parent-toddler group at Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development, in Shaker Heights, isn’t an ordinary play group; every moment has purpose.

While children play, they’re also getting a head start on their first school experience, learning to manage important things like transitions, excitement, sharing, waiting and following instructions.

Meanwhile, parents get help seeing these stress points from the child’s perspective. Our credentialed staff provides eye-opening developmental insights and useful tools for parents to understand, help and enjoy their children in a whole new way.

“No other program in the area is so thoroughly devoted to understanding children and nurturing their growth,” said one parent from a recent class. “We feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity during these important early years.”

The program offers meaningful enrichment for any child, age 15 months to 3 years. And it’s especially valuable for grownups who have questions about a child’s behaviors, or perhaps their own role as a parent.

Held for 90 minutes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during the school year, Hanna Perkins’ parent-toddler group is a premium experience that answers questions about the things parents worry about, like discipline, potty training, tantrums, sibling relationships and more. And the kids think they’re just having fun.

Founded in 1951, non-profit Hanna Perkins is dedicated to supporting healthy social-emotional development for children and families.

Right now, Hanna Perkins is offering a September Special for families that want to give it a try without making a full-year commitment. Space is limited so don’t wait. For more information, visit hannaperkins.org
