Spring Cleaning should begin TODAY!

Now, I realize we may have 2 feet of snow covering our cars and yards when this article reaches you.  But, when I started it, I was nearly 55 degrees in January. Either way, you need to start planning your Spring Cleaning “program.”  Here are my top 3 reasons you should really think about a “Spring Cleaning Program” this year:

1. Safety issues
2. Health issues
3. Stress issues

Safety Issues

When’s the last time you linked “safety” with spring cleaning?  Start today and you may be glad you did. Here is a short list of things you should check/clean/repair at least each spring:

• Check to make sure fire/smoke detectors are working properly and batteries are replaced.  This goes for any type of “gas” type detectors too.
• Parents/Grandparents -  check your child safety issues - are all the meds locked up and safe? Do you keep razors near sinks/tubs where your 3-4 year old could reach? What about the child proof safety latches on the drawers containing toxins, cleaning agents, etc? Are those still locked?
• Check your local sheriff website to see if any “new” sexual predators have moved near by. It’s up to you, but, I like to know what the sex predators in my neighborhood look like if any moved near my 3 and 4 year old children- download apps like this on your Smart Phones.
• Fire Extinguishers -  too many of you out there don’t have them. They can save your life
• Do you REALLY have a game plan if there’s a fire in your home at 2am? Think about it.
• Dryer Vents -  search google to see how many fires are started by dryer vents- don’t be a victim
