The School of Communication at the University of Akron builds the full range of communication skills necessary for thriving careers in all types of industries. We offer four focus areas for undergraduate studies, a masters program and several certificate programs at both levels. The School of Communication offers both undergraduate degree and graduate degree programs, plus several certificate programs at both degree levels. Undergraduates earning a Bachelor of Communication can choose a focus area from these four options: Media studies Public relations Communication studies Organizational supervision We also offer the following Master’s degree program: Strategic Communication.
Summer Influencer Boot Camp participants going into grades 9-12 will work directly with communication faculty to develop the skills needed to become a content creator or influencer. Students will take advantage of the School of Comm.’s multiple production facilities, work with award-winning faculty and experience much of what the University of Akron and the city have to offer.
The week will include field trips and activities with many opportunities for creating content. Participants’ work will be presented at the culmination of the week to showcase to family, friends, and the UA community.”
